The Practice
Morning classes will include meditation, yoga, and natural movement and we’ll of course be sneaking in some partner stretches as well.
Afternoon and evening sessions will include our signature Embody Love practices including partner stretching, massage, and breath-work. We’ll have the pleasure of going deep with our partner while also building beautiful friendships and community with each other.
You will come away with powerful insights and new somatic tools to connect with your partner that you can take back home and incorporate into a weekly routine. To support your integration, we include a series of videos that will allow you to seamlessly continue the practice.
Midday, we’ll explore the private hiking trails and swimming holes of this incredible 100-acre property next to the Yuba River. We’ll play, relax and connect with our partners, each other and the magic of this special land.
The Place
Imagine an unforgettable setting for you and your beloved on a pristine private section of the refreshing Yuba River. Located on 100 wooded acres, with a sunny deck overlooking a canyon of pines and oaks, you will feel immersed in the beauty of this place.
Enjoy a 10-mile private network of beautiful hiking & mountain biking trails and a creek with cascading waterfalls that feeds into the Yuba River. Explore endless pools to refresh and revitalize surrounded by giant granite boulders.
The owners of this special property have taken care to create a sanctuary space that aligns with the elements and honor the unique contours and characteristics of the environment
Retreat Includes:
- 3 nights, 4 days at a private retreat sanctuary on the Yuba River
- daily morning yoga, breath work and meditation
- rejuvenating Embody Love Practices with Thai massage
- evening programming includes fire ceremony, heart songs and star gazing

Accommodation
We will be staying in a lovely homestead that offers 7 spacious bedrooms with sunny forest views. This property prioritizes sustainability with bamboo floors and window blinds, organic towels and sheets, and natural body care products. The downstairs studio is made from downed sugarpine trees, hand milled from the land. Each cozy bedroom is decorated with vintage furnishings.
We will follow the public health guidelines applicable at the time of this retreat. At this point, that would look like demonstrating a negative covid-19 test result or getting vaccinated before gathering in a group. We will also be doing much of our practice, gathering, and mealtime outside because that’s always the healthiest and most joyful option!

If you and your partner are excited about learning new techniques to bring more joy and loving touch into your relationship, you are in the right place.
Whether you are doing great in your relationship or having challenges around carving out space for intimacy and connection, this retreat will support you in developing embodied and empowering practices of touch through massage, partner yoga and movement, and breathwork.
We recommend that couples have a baseline level of trust and stability and will not be doing “therapy”.
Since we are renting out a lodge with many bedrooms, you will not be able to stay in the homestead. There are other sweet options on the property to stay before or after and can inquire by emailing Alicia:

Nevada City is a quaint old mining town and the downtown area is very fun to walk around with many shops, cafes and restaurants. We also recommend going to the bottom of Purdon Rd. (10 min. drive) to visit more amazing swimming holes on the Yuba River.
No. We have had same-sex couples join us in past retreats and welcome all types of relationships as long as you are fine sleeping in the same bed.
We will follow the public health guidelines applicable at the time of this retreat. At this point, we will require a negative covid-19 test result on arrival. We will also be doing most of our practice, gathering, and mealtime outside to enjoy and connect with the beauty of nature!
Please note that because our retreats are limited to a small number of attendees, to allow for a more personable, intimate experience, our cancellation policy is in place to help guests and us alike work together sharing expenses that may arise from unexpected cancellations.
Your registration fee minus $500 will be refunded if requested with more than 30 days notice of the retreat.
With less than 30 days notice, 50% of your registration fee will be refunded.
Within 14 days, no refunds will be given. Refunds will incur a 3% processing fee.
No one books a retreat with the intention of cancelling it, but unexpected events do occur, so we will consider each situation individually and if you are able to fill your spot we can issue a full refund.
